FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS REGARDING COUNTY PARK RULES
Vehicles are restricted to designated roads and parking areas. Trucks are not allowed except for light trucks and trucks making deliveries. No vehicle to be operated at speeds in excess of posted limits.
Visitors must not harm or interfere with the wildlife. Willful destruction or removal of trees, including dead trees, shrubs, vines, wildflowers, grass, ferns, moss, leaves, or pinecones is prohibited.
Fires must be confined to camp stoves, barbecue pits or fire rings. During drought conditions, patrons must be mindful of any fire prohibitions or warnings that might be put into place by Harris County.
The constitution and laws of the State of Texas, and those of the United States of America, govern the possession of weapons within a park.
Glass beverage containers are prohibited. Consumption of alcoholic beverages is allowed only under special conditions. Details may be obtained by contacting the park office at 713-274-0930.
Dogs and domestic cats are permitted in parks except for those where signs prohibiting them are posted. Dogs and cats must be confined to vehicles or kept on leashes not more than 6 feet in length. Different rules apply for dogs visiting one of the precinct’s off-leash dog parks. No other animals are allowed in the parks except horses, which are only allowed in parks where there are designated equestrian areas and trails.
No loudspeakers, public address systems, or amplifiers are to be operated in any park without prior written permission from the Director of Parks.
No special events may be held in a park without prior written permission from the Director of Parks.
No sales are permitted in the parks without prior written permission from the Director of Parks or pursuant to a written contract authorized by the Harris County Commissioners Court.
A person may not operate a drone or model aircraft in a park except in a specifically designated area, and the drone or model aircraft must remain in the operator’s line of sight, unless otherwise authorized in writing by the Director of Parks.
